Did Valentine’s Day just sneak up on you? Did you have nothing in the way of Valentine decorations? Okay, you can start now for next year. We have selected Valentine fabrics on sale at 25% off. It’s never too early to start on a seasonal project!

We have a few of the Janome 6600 sewing machines which have open boxes. They are on sale for $1,399. The regular price is $1,999, so this is a BIG bargain. There are only a few at this price. If you are looking for a new machine - this it IT!

Check your coupon book, there is a one day only coupon. This is Leap Year and on Friday, February 29, you can get 15% off any regularly priced fabric.

Fabrics
If you are looking for some wonderful fabrics for babies, check out Moda’s Giggles flannel line. There are 11 fabrics in the line in soft pastels. The jelly rolls come in a boy roll and a girl roll. There are also charm packs.

Another set of fabric for the younger set is the Fun with Sue panels. This is a 30s reproduction of the popular Sunbonnet Sue. There are 16 fabrics available in this line.

For you Batik lovers, we have 46 new Batik fabrics in a multitude of colors and patterns.

The Yoshiko line of Asian 12 fabrics comes with swirls and square-in-a-square fabrics to go with the 4 feature fabrics.

There are 2 lines of black and white fabrics. One is Calais II which has 3 floral motifs. The other is Safari which has white clouds on black, African animals, and zebras.

Another line is Mimi which features black and red flowers on an ivory background. There is also a red background fabric as a go-with.

If you are looking for something special, you might like to check out Music Group. There are 3 fabrics that feature instruments – 2 with a black background and 1 with an ivory background.

For the youngsters, we have Lady Bug Love and Simply Delicious. The lady bugs are on aqua or green backgrounds and have go-withs with stripes and dots. Simply Delicious in yellow, orange, green and aqua are perfect go-with fabrics for the lady bugs.

Books
Heather Mulder Peterson has a new book using the jelly rolls – On A Roll Again. This book has 8 projects designed for the 2 ½” jelly roll strips.

A beautiful quilt book to have is Ruth Issett’s Print Pattern & Color. The book has sections covering monoprinting, roller printing, screen printing, printing with found objects, stencils, and rubbed and dyed effects, plus how to combine techniques. With techniques found in this book you can create printed papers and fabrics that glow with color and pattern.

Crossroads by Nancy Crow is an exhibition of 25 recent quilts. These works represent three distinct modes of experimentation that the artist has titled “Construction, Markings, and Structures.”

From The Perfect Patchwork System, we have Vol. 1-4 of the Encyclopedia of Patchwork Blocks by Marti Michell. Vol. 1 uses Template Set A and Set B. Vol. can be made with combined Template Sets A and C and/or Sets B and D.

Patterns
We have 3 new patterns from Cozy Quilt Designs. Strip Club Pattern is a great pattern for themed fabrics like animal prints or Asian prints. It uses jelly rolls or you can cut your own 2 ½” strips. Cotton Rainbow comes in 3 different sizes – throw, twin, and queen. It is very effective in batik fabrics. Petal Pop is a fun, bright circular log cabin.

Teacher, quilt designer Bev Remillard’s patterns Dogwood Dynasty and Celebration are now in stock. The quilts are also hanging in the store.

Joined at the Hip’s Petunia Patch is made of scrap fabric to make the flowers and backgrounds. This is a simple pieced project.

Check Out the Stars by Quilt Moments is made of 4-patches, half-square triangles, and squares to create the stars. The quilts (which come in four sizes) use charm packs (5” squares), layer cakes (10” squares), and fat quarters.

Classes
Come into the store and check the new March calendar. There are classes for every interest. Just remember to sign up early to assure your spot and to assure the class will have enough students to be held. You can also register by phone – just have your Visa or MasterCard ready.

Garden Stars. This is a new class. The sashing on the quilt makes continuous chains of squares that appear to weave in and out of the stars. The quilt uses the "snowball" technique for an interesting way to create stars.

Peak of the Season. This quilt is an example of how the Delectable Mountain blocks can be used to piece a fabulous serpentine border. The border shows off the square blocks that are set on point for a simple center.

Open Thread Bar. Have you ever tried to quilt with decorative and metallic threads and given up? Come join Cindy for a fun day where you will be treated to an Open Thread Bar. There will be a large assortment of all types of decorative threads for you to use. You will learn how to use the threads on your machine, learn how to work with your tensions, needles and bobbins. You will create a reference panel and also learn how to audition threads while thread painting on provided floral panels.

Quilt Tip of the Week. Use baking parchment paper to help you position and align appliqué pieces prepared with fusible web. Place the appliqué pattern under the translucent parchment paper, position all the pieces, and fuse to the parchment paper.
